My fiancé and I had the pleasure of staying at Refugio Genesis for a week, and let me tell you, it was a rejuvenating escape. Nestled on the shores of Lake Tota, the sights were nothing short of breathtaking, especially from our room which had a stunning partial view of the water. The mornings began with an American breakfast featuring delicious, rustic Colombian cuisine that fuelled us for our adventures. One memorable highlight was the exceptionally friendly staff; they made us feel right at home! While it’s true that the rooms are on the basic side, they came with a private bathroom and hot water—after a long day of hiking or fishing, that felt like a treat! The property is a bit remote, offering a true retreat away from the hustle and bustle, which was just what we needed. Best of all, the warm, inviting atmosphere kept us coming back for more cozy fireside evenings. Refugio Genesis may not have all the modern tech trappings, but it's perfect if you're looking to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature with someone special. We'll definitely be back!
